Ways to Donate Food

Food Donations are always welcome.  Drop your food donation at the Second Harvest Food Shelf:

Location:
2222 Cromell Dr
Grand Rapids, MN 55744
(south side of Hwy 2 East, just past Sandstom’s)
Come in the Food Self doors, (double doors) on the right side of the building

The Food Shelf Hours:
Monday-Thursday 11:00am to 3:30pm
Friday 10:00am until 1:00pm
Saturday, September 10th 1:00pm-3:00pm
*First Tuesday of the month 11:00am to 5:30pm

*Please donate food that has a good Use by/Expiration date.
** We are unable to accept home-canned food or privately processed meat due to food safety regulations.

What is Harvest to End Hunger MN?

Every community has “hidden hungry” who are struggling to gain stability during tough times. The six Feeding America food banks serving local regions in Minnesota have joined forces to offer farmers like you a simple way to help fight hunger in your local community. Through Harvest to End Hunger MN, farmers can donate excess produce that will go to food banks and food shelves locally.

How can farmers help end hunger?

Produce Donations: Donate excess crops such as sweet corn, potatoes, green beans and apples to your local food bank.

Drop your produce donation at the Second Harvest:

Food Industry Donations

Second Harvest North Central Food Bank relies primarily on food industry donations. We strive to make all donations easy to manage. We accept perishable, frozen, dry or bulk products that are:

  • Excess product
  • Past their ‘best if used by’ date
  • Close-dated
  • Damaged (some restrictions apply)
  • Off-spec
  • Discontinued
  • Rejected but still safe for human consumption or use
