During March, Second Harvest will participate in the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign by collecting donations of money and food for our on-site food shelf. This collection will support local efforts to help feed people in need and reduce hunger in the local community. Donations stay local but count towards a statewide effort to help stock the shelves of every food shelf in the state. The share of the statewide campaign will be even greater the more we can raise locally.
We need your help. People are struggling to put food on the table, especially healthy food. We know there is a direct link between access to nutritious food and people’s health. Ensuring that we have enough nutritious food can be a challenge and create an increased expense. That is why we are asking for help from our community to reach our $70,000 goal. We want to make sure our shelves are filled with food to help keep our community healthy and strong.
No donation is too small. Every dollar has an impact. With every dollar we raise we can provide up to 5 meals to hungry people in our community. Plus, we are excited to share that we now have resources available on our website to assist you in starting a Food and Fund Drive. Making Food and Fund Drives easy is a goal of ours. With a set of resources available on our website including a coordinator’s guide, posters and informational sheets we have tried to provide everything you need to have a successful drive.
If you want to help your community, the Minnesota FoodShare March Campaign gives people an opportunity to make a difference in the local community by acting before March 31, 2019.
